Pedigree Polled Herefords
Northern Irish Bloodline in the Fabb Herd.
Pedigree Polled Herefords sets us off on our travels again! After a problem free harvest, we set off to Northern Ireland.
Our main aim was to go to Dorepoll’s Pedigree polled Herefords Sale to view their cattle, and hopefully purchase some embryos for your breeding program.
On arrival we were greeted with friendly faces and the general buzz around the breeders was exciting. The cattle looked in great condition and overall, a fine herd of Herefords.
In one of the last pens of cattle we looked at, there was a lovely heifer that really caught our eye. Dorepoll 1 Katie, an in-calf three year old that really showed some style. Katie is by Dorepoll 1 60G Chinook, an embryo that was imported from Canada and was in-calf to Dorepoll Heritage. Back in 2013, Katie was Champion at the Northern Ireland Calf show, judged by Andrew Hughes.
The Fabb herd also managed to secure some embryos, these are a flush from Dorepoll 1518 Tessa 545 with Dorepoll 1735 Jonathan 499. We intend to use these in our breed program in the near future and look forward to seeing calves on the ground!
